ABOUT
About Saitama
Saitama Prefecture is a region where history, nature, and contemporary culture blend in perfect harmony. In terms of history, Kawagoe, affectionately known as "Little Edo," is not to be missed. Walking along streets lined with kura-style warehouses, you can savor an atmosphere that evokes old Edo. In the Chichibu region, the historic Chichibu Shrine and Mitsumine Shrine, known as a power spot, keep age-old faith and culture alive. The abundant nature is a major attraction as well. In the Chichibu-Nagatoro area, you can enjoy the Arakawa River boat ride and the spectacular Iwadatami rock formations, and the beautiful scenery of each season, such as the moss phlox of Hitsujiyama Park in spring and the autumn foliage, enchants visitors. The cuisine is varied too, from traditional flavors such as Urawa eel, Sayama tea, and Soka senbei to the "Musashino udon" loved throughout the prefecture, so the pleasures of eating never run out. There are also many spots that appeal to families and young people, such as the Railway Museum in Omiya and the recently celebrated "Tokorozawa Sakura Town." Saitama is full of profound charms that you can encounter just a short step away from central Tokyo.
