ABOUT
About this spot
Located in the center of Saga City, the Saga Balloon Museum is Japan's first permanent museum themed on hot air balloons. Saga City is famous for hosting the "Saga International Balloon Fiesta," one of Asia's largest hot air balloon competitions, every autumn, but here you can enjoy the charm of balloons all year round regardless of weather or season. The museum's top attraction is the "Super Hi-Vision Theater" with a huge 280-inch screen. The overwhelming footage of colorful balloons filling the sky delivers a sense of presence as if you were there. The "Flight Simulator," where you board an actual basket and control altitude and wind, is a full-fledged piloting experience corner that adults and children alike will love. There are also exhibits to learn the history and science of balloons and an interactive quiz corner, with many touches that deepen knowledge through play. The first floor has a cafe and shop, where finding original balloon-themed goods and Saga specialties is another pleasure. It is a facility to experience the symbol of Saga, ideal for weekend family outings, dates, or casual solo sightseeing.
