ABOUT

About this spot

Mizuki Shigeru Road in Sakaiminato City, Tottori Prefecture, is a tourist attraction representing Japan, where a retro Showa shopping street merges with the world of "GeGeGe no Kitaro." Along the roughly 800 m street continuing from JR Sakaiminato Station stand as many as 177 bronze yokai statues, and just walking lets you enjoy the mysterious charm of the yokai. By day, the real pleasures are food-hopping for treats themed on yokai characters, the yokai stamp rally, and choosing souvenirs. Photogenic scenery spreads in every direction. With the 2018 renovation, the nighttime presentation was also greatly enhanced. The lighting begins at sunset, and the yokai shadow pictures projected onto the road surface create a fantastical and slightly eerie world different from the daytime. It is a spot just right for a quiet solo stroll as well as for having fun with family and friends. With many shops nearby serving fresh seafood, it is an area full of charm where you can enjoy the whole day.
