ABOUT

About this spot

The Sand Museum, right next to the Tottori Sand Dunes, is a spot where you can experience the stunning sculptural beauty created by the world's top sand sculptors. With the concept "World Travel in Sand," the exhibition theme changes regularly, expressing the history and culture of places around the world in elaborate sand sculptures. The detail so fine it is hard to believe they are made of only sand and water, and the power of the huge works, overwhelm visitors. The museum is all-weather and easy to tour, and from the observation plaza on the 3rd floor you can also enjoy a panoramic view of the Tottori Sand Dunes National Park. When an exhibition ends, the works are returned to sand and reborn as new works, giving them the charm of fleeting art that can be seen only at that time. It is a classic Tottori sightseeing spot recommended for all kinds of travelers, from girls' trips with friends and couples on dates to families.
