ABOUT
About this spot
Located on the shore of Lake Togo in Tottori, Enchoen is an authentic Chinese garden on one of the largest scales in Japan. Built as a symbol of friendship between Tottori Prefecture and Hebei Province in China, it was created by Chinese craftsmen using genuine techniques, from design to material procurement and construction. Step inside and it feels like a Chinese historical film. Beautiful buildings recreating the "imperial gardens" loved by emperors through the ages and 28 attractions are dotted around, and every view is picture-perfect. Don't miss the corridors with colorful paintings and the grand scenery using the lake as borrowed scenery. The daily performances of authentic Chinese acrobatics are thrilling and sure to captivate adults and children alike. At the adjacent roadside station, you can enjoy Chinese cuisine and buy a wide variety of souvenirs. Chinese dress (qipao) rental is also available (for a fee), and strolling the garden in costume should give you the perfect "Instagrammable" photos. It is a great spot for families, friends, or a relaxed solo stroll for anyone who wants to forget daily life and soak up an exotic atmosphere.
