Within walking distance of Sendai Station, the Sendai Anpanman Children's Museum & Mall is a dreamlike facility filled with the world of Anpanman, the hero of children. In the museum area on the 2nd floor (paid), exciting stage shows featuring Anpanman and friends are held every day, and parents and children can sing and dance together to make wonderful memories. It is also full of features that stimulate children's curiosity, such as the "Bakery Factory" familiar from the anime and the "Wanpaku Island" where kids can play actively on slides and more. There are photo spots throughout, so you can take commemorative photos with the characters. The shopping mall area on the 1st floor is free to enter and has shops selling exclusive goods and the "Jam-ojisan's Bakery Factory" with carefully recreated character faces. Restaurants and a food court are also plentiful, ideal for a family lunch. Being a fully indoor facility, it is comfortable on rainy or hot days. It is a classic Sendai sightseeing spot recommended not only for families with small children but also for adults who want to be soothed by Anpanman's adorable world.
