ABOUT

About this spot

Abukuma Cave in Tamura City, Fukushima Prefecture, is a mysterious limestone cave created over an immeasurable span of time. Within its roughly 600 meters of length, stalactites of the greatest variety and number in the Orient continue, and step inside to find a scene like another world. The main highlight is Takine Goten, a vast space about 29 meters high. The sight of illuminated stalactites shining is truly a work of art created by nature. The Adventure Course, passing through narrow gaps between rocks, is also very popular with adults and children who want thrills and excitement. The temperature inside stays constant year-round at around 15 degrees, so it is cool in summer and warm in winter and comfortable to explore all year. There are also restaurants and shops nearby where you can taste Fukushima specialties. Come experience this underground world of overwhelming scale, whether on a family trip, a date, an activity with friends, or a solo adventure.
